Transferring your out-of-state driver license
After you arrive in Texas, you'll need to update your identification and vehicle registration. New residents are required to obtain a Texas driver license or ID card within 90 days of establishing residency.
Voter registration
If you'd like to participate in Texas elections, you'll need to register to vote in your new county of residence. Texas makes it easy to get started with the voter registration process once you've established your new address. To vote in Texas, you must be eligible and registered to vote at least 30 days before the next election.
